I am a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I trained at the Centre for Professional and Personal Development (CPPD) in North London gaining a Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I did my clinical training at London’s largest University, within a residential addiction rehabilitation unit and at a NHS ‘Improving Access to Psychological Therapies’ (IAPT’s) service.
I am committed to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I receive regular clinical supervision in line with BACP guidelines. I currently work in private practice in Stroud Green, N4 and continue to work in a counselling capacity within the NHS.
Prior to counselling, I was self employed in the marketing industry where I worked for over 15 years. I believe this to have given me a good insight into the stressful busy commercial world and the economic implications that sometimes arise.
I have worked with a huge range of different clients and their issues including: depression, anxiety, low self esteem, addiction (alcohol/drugs/relationships), relationship issues, sexual identity, gender issues, same sex relationship issues, eating disorders and sexual/physical abuse to name a few.
I work in a Psychodynamic style with my clients in a warm, spontaneous way, engaging emotionally and compassionately whilst I give my clients the space and opportunity to think about their lives in their own way, at their own pace.
